Christmas is almost here! Did you know that each one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) tells about the story of Jesus? I encourage you and your family to take the Bible and read the story of Jesus’ birth. As you read pick out your favorite part. Was it about the angels that sang to the shepherds? Was it when the three Wisemen brought their expensive gifts? Or was it when Mary and Joseph laid little Jesus in the manger? Discuss your favorite parts and explain why it is an important part to you and to the story.
After reading you can watch this short video about Jesus’ birth!
During this holiday season most of the world focuses on getting things for themselves. What if instead we were grateful for what we already have? What if we put giving before receiving? This holiday instead of wanting more for ourselves what if we wanted more for others? In the Bible Jesus encourages us to do just that.
“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” Acts 20:35 (NKJV)
What are somethings you are thankful for? Feel free to comment 🙂
