Fruit of the Spirit

Composition of various exotic fruits isolated on white background

Fruit is my favorite food. Bananas, mangoes, strawberries, peaches, watermelon, any kind is good. Did you know that there are 9 fruits in the Bible. OK, they are not literal fruits. They are fruits of the Spirit. In other words they are the characteristics we are supposed to have as Christians. You can find the list in Galatians 5:22-23.  “But the Spirit gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong.”

Now I know what your thinking. People don’t grow fruit, that’s what trees and bushes do. But just how a plant produces fruit we should be able to produce good attitudes and behaviors. When we let the Holy Spirit work in us we start behaving more loving, joyful, patient, and so on. The way to produce delicious “fruit” is by spending time the Jesus! Just like plants need to be watered, have good soil and sunshine, we need to spend time reading our Bibles, praying and singing!

I encourage you all to spend time with Jesus everyday and soon you will be producing each “fruit”.

Here is a song to help you remember all the fruits of the spirit!
